Sophie and Soccer

This spring Sophie decided that she wanted to play soccer.  After much searching we found the Tooele United Rec league and signed Sophie up, a little late, but they still let her register.  Of course Tyler went and got each of the girls their own soccer balls.  Sophie has been having a blast practicing and at the 2 games that she has had so far.

The pictures are of her first game. It was so cold and rainy.  Zoe, Lily and I were all bundled up in sweaters and blankets.  I felt bad that Sophie was out there without a jacket but she didn't seem to mind.  She had fun running around and trying to get the ball.  She also loved running by us and giving us a thumbs up with a huge grin.  It made me laugh every time.  I was glad to know that she was enjoying playing soccer!

Here she is right before the game started getting ready...well, at least she was supposed to be getting ready to run.

Here's one of the few time she got the ball this first game.

Yesterday's game was much warmer and Sophie had just as much fun running around.  Although her shadow distracted her, she kept posing and looking at her shadow to see how if it was posing like her. Then when she would hear us telling her to run after the ball she would smile, give that cute thumbs up, and start running after the ball. You have to love the short attention spans and imagination of children!  I am glad to see that she is able to enjoy the things around her and still participate (most of the time) in a soccer game.
