Christmas Day

Christmas Day started off very nice. Sophie slept until 7:30 am, which probably won't happen next year since I think she will be a little wiser to the events! Sophie was enthralled with her kitchen first off and we had a hard time getting her interested in opening up the presents under the tree. After we got her to open a couple she realized that it was a lot of fun and that there were more things for her to enjoy.

Sophie received a Cabbage Patch doll from grandma Cheryl and grandpa Kraig, along with the necessary accompaniments to a doll. Tyler and I got her an easel (that was broken!), and dishes, an apron and some books. She was so excited it was hard to get her to dress and brush her teeth!

Later that day Tyler cooked us an amazing Christmas dinner of turkey, potatoes, stuffing, veggies and rolls! Amazing I know (I wasn't able to because my leg decided to weird out on Christmas Eve and I could walk very well.)!

We had a wonderful Christmas and even decided to start the tradition of reading Luke 2 before we went downstairs to open presents. Sophie at least knows that it is baby Jesus' birthday because when we asked her throughout the day she knew the answer. What a sweet girl!

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve with Tyler's family. We all had lots of fun and Sophie especially loved the time she got to spend with her cousins, grandma and grandpa, and aunts and uncles. She received some very cool gifts, a handmade leather purse from uncle Jared, gorgeous clothes from aunt Jamie and uncle Andy, a quiet time/travel learning center from aunt Natalie, uncle Kevin and her cousins and cute PJ's from grandma and grandpa.

We also played a couple of games which I seemed to have forgotten to take pictures! Let's just say it caused sibling rivalry, hurt feelings and a few tears! We also enjoyed a delicious meal and lots of visiting!

After we returned home and got Sophie down to sleep, Tyler and I ventured to put together the kitchen that grandma Cindy and grandpa Dan bought for Sophie. With a little skill (me reading the instructions and setting out the appropriate parts, and Tyler laboring diligently) we were able to finish it in 2.25 short hours!

Fun in the Snow

Gingerbread Houses

Gingerbread Houses

A couple of weeks ago Tyler and I decided to make gingerbread houses for FHE. Sophie had a blast eating all the marshmallows, gummy bears, and m&m's she could get her hands on, it was quite humorous! Tyler had a hard time keeping his house together because of it. I think that they turned out rather nicely and we had so much fun doing it together as a family, here are a few pictures of our adventure!

Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving it was my families turn to entertain us...or us entertaining them?! We went to my big family lunch at my cousins dance studio. Sophie had a blast playing on the gymnastics mats and eating olives, she didn't want to leave when it was time to go.

After having some time to digest our food we, my sister and brother-in-law and my parents headed out to my grandparents farm to take some pictures. My sister was in want of some new photos to put on her walls as was my mom. So out we went and took so really cute pictures on the hay and tractors. Sophie was especially in love with the tractors and Tyler even took her for a ride on one of them!

Later that night after returning home to good old Logan, my mom and dad watched Sophie so that I could drag Tyler to see Twlight with me....it was definately not as good as the book but I had assumed as much and still came away a little disappointed.

The next morning bright and early (3:30 a.m. to be exact) my mom and I headed to Ogden to pick up my sister for our traditional after Thanksgiving shopping mania. We got some good deals on DVDs at Target but that was about it, basically we just go to laugh at the crazy people with lust in their eyes! It was quite comical.

Here are some of the pictures from my grandparents:
