Easter in Sunny St. George

Now I know it looks like I am slacking in posting about Easter, but trust me, I tried on Sunday but blogger erased my novel when I tried to post. I was so mad, so I boycotted by not posting! Now I am semi-willing to try it again. If I don't do it now it won't get posted!

Since Easter and Spring Break coincided we decided to travel down to St. George on Thursday to spend the weekend with Tyler's sister and her family. Her in-laws own a house down there so it free lodging and who can pass up a trip somewhere sunny when we were being dumped on with snow!

The drive down on Thursday was fun but a little crazy, we were trying to negotiate to purchase a house. Once that was achieved we had to find a computer and a fax machine so we could enter into the contract! So surprise...we are buying a house!!! Anyway, onto the fun time we had.

Sophie had so much fun playing with her cousins. She even slept upstairs in a bunk bed with her girl cousins. Man, she is growing up so fast! She didn't even cry at night, she just wanted to sleep in the "cave bed". Friday morning we went the COOLEST park ever! It had a rock climbing wall, a rope bridge and the coolest play equipment ever! Sophie had a blast running everywhere, sliding and chasing her dad. Zoe loved the wood chips.....I know, gross, but I tried to keep them out of her mouth. After that we went swimming in Washington City at their cool pool. Sophie once again was thrilled! She even surprised Tyler and I by jumping in the pool, letting water splash in her eyes, and was totally enamoured by the slides. Zoe on the other hand was so sleepy, her and I ended up at pool side cuddling...not that I'm complaining, she is growing up way too fast, got to get my cuddle time in before it's too late!

After the pool we ate and In N Out Burger...yummy! And then Sophie and Tyler went swimming again at the clubhouse pool with her cousins. It didn't last long though, she wasn't nearly as excited because there were no slides. Zoe and I stayed back and took a nap, plus it was nice for me to have some quiet, TV's in every room causes for LOTS of noise! Later that night we went to the Arts Festival. It was so awesome. My favorite pieces were those made out of copper, it just amazes me the colors and patterns that can be achieved by flame. Even Sophie and Zoe loved the artwork, especially the big pictures and canvases.

Saturday morning we headed for an Easter egg hunt. All the kids came away with plenty of candy considering that there were a million kids there. Sophie had fun, but was a bit intimidated by all of the kids. Zoe did so good. She found a spot with a good amount of stuff within reach and loaded up. After that we went back to the house and colored eggs and had an Easter egg hunt of our own. Zoe had fun finding the eggs and putting them in her mouth, dyed eggs=colored mouth! Sophie did good finding the eggs too, she even had her stuffed bear, loving dubbed "daddy bear", find some too. The kids even hid the eggs and gave the adults a turn looking for them.

Every night we played rummy, had ice cream Friday night, watched Astro Boy, and stayed up way past bedtime!

Sunday we headed home and tried to listen to conference. Sophie made it a bit difficult because she really wanted a movie instead and made sure that we knew! We got home and found that the Easter bunny had left the girls baskets of goodies. Sophie was excited for her flip-flops and Zoe love the bouncy ball she got. Here are some picture of the fun we had, in reverse order.....

Sophie coloring eggs with her cousins.

Zoe downing pancakes. She must have been starving that morning because she ate 2 pancakes and a banana in her high chair and then once she was out decided that she needed more and ate five more. Ate isn't even the right word, it's more like she SHOVED them in. Imagine eating one pancake in two bites!

Sophie at the awesome park!

Zoe, having some fun too, I know it doesn't look that way, but she really did like it.

An attempt at getting all the cousins to sit in the same spot for a photo. As you can see my little spit fire is trying to escape. I had to chase her all around that park to catch her, then Tyler had just as hard of a time trying to get her to hold still and look at the camera. Got to love defiance!

Sunny St. George is the best.

That picture of cute Zoe bringing an egg back to grandma is the best.

You and Ty buying a house is the best news I've heard all day. Wahoo!

And YOU are the best pal because now we blog and facebook together. :) Love it.
